A Clawsome Tale
Narrated by Lowenna (a European Lobster), the film follows her journey through the hatchery, and that of her offspring, who start their lives there before being released back into the ocean. Through her eyes, we also meet the passionate people working to protect her species: including Cornish fisherman Dan Gilbert and Head of Hatchery Production Ben Marshall.
With inspiration from the likes of Aardman's Creature Comforts, and Wes Anderson, this documentary aims to shake up the typical wildlife/conservation documentary narrative style. Combining playful storytelling with marine conservation education, this tale reveals a remarkable project working to safeguard the future of Cornwall’s lobsters.

Lucie is a film-maker from the United Kingdom, currently specialising in local conservation stories. She holds an MSc in Conservation and Biodiversity from the University of Exeter, and has worked for environmental organisations in the UK and around the world, including as a conservation biologist on Ascension Island.
She is passionate about using storytelling as a force for good, focusing on the intersection between human culture and the natural world, and issues of environmental justice.
She currently works as a camerawoman for the BBC, with previous credits for organisations including Blue Marine Foundation and Zoological Society of London. This is her debut film as a Director.
