ANIMAL CARNIVAL

| free

SunChild 3rd International Environmental Festival will kick off on October 14th with a big Animal Carnival Parade. 500 young people wearing animal costumes and masks will encourage everybody to participate in the events of SunChild 3rd International Environmental Festival.

As in SunChild Festival 2009 hot Brazilian Samba-rhythms contributed by the band Confusao will encourage the Animal Carnival. In 2009 it took only a short time until the band infected hundreds of children in self-made animal costumes to join the rhythm. Even more impressive was when the Confusao members started to improvise with Armenian marching bands and traditional drumming groups. Suddenly a unique spontaneous sound was born expressing the message that music – as nature - knows no borders.

The Animal Carnival is a colorful and artistic spectacle nonetheless it has a very serious educational background. The event aims to raise awareness for animal welfare and animal rights, and to remind the public about our responsibility towards all living creatures. The costumes are made of all sorts of waste in order to promote recycling and motivate everybody to keep Armenia's unique nature clean.

FPWC intends to involve as many young people as possible into a process of rethinking our society's relation to wildlife and nature. In order to achieve this aim and to broaden the outreach of the event FPWC and Austrian Airlines bestow four awards for the groups participating in the Animal Carnival Parade.

The two most ecological animal costumes will be rewarded each with: 100.000 AMD. (One award is given by FPWC, one by Austrian Airlines).

The two most creative animal costumes will be rewarded each with: 100.000 AMD. (One award is given by FPWC, one by Austrian Airlines).
