Director’s Biography

Fredi Devas is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker and director. From his previous work with the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, he is best known for directing the Cities episode of the landmark series Planet Earth II, which explored how wildlife adapts to life in urban environments and earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Nonfiction Program.
Devas has also directed for major international productions including Seven Worlds, One Planet, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, and the giant-screen documentary Antarctica. Filming in environments ranging from dense megacities to remote polar landscapes, his work focuses on revealing unexpected animal behaviour and highlighting the complex relationship between humans and the natural world.
