Behzad Alavi։ Born on November 22, 1988, in Zanjan, Iran, Behzad Alavi is a filmmaker and art researcher currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Semnan University’s Faculty of Arts. With a BA in Film Directing, Alavi’s work spans both fiction and documentary, often exploring themes of culture, heritage, and human experience. His short documentary Rahmat Creel earned multiple international honors, including Best Director at the Australian International Muslim Film Festival (2020) and Best Documentary Short at the Vienna International Film Festival (2021). He has co-directed several acclaimed works with Sousan Salamat, such as Wooden Sword and Taxidermist, which screened at prestigious festivals including Girona Film Festival, Providence Children's Film Festival, and Moscow International Film Festival. His films have been recognized in over a dozen countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania.
Sousan Salamat։ Born on September 21, 1988, in Isfahan, Iran, Sousan Salamat is a filmmaker and handicrafts specialist, currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Iran University of Arts. Her debut short film One Nice Day received the Special Jury Award at the Zero Plus Film Festival (Russia, 2016) and was showcased at numerous international festivals, from Italy’s SquardiAltrove to the San Francisco Iranian Film Festival. Salamat’s socially conscious storytelling continued with The Home is Not Safe and later with co-directed works such as Wooden Sword and Taxidermist alongside Behzad Alavi. Their collaborations have reached audiences at festivals in Spain, the USA, Nepal, Russia, and beyond, earning distinctions such as the Special Jury Prize at the Moscow International
