THE ZOO
An uplifting new three-month documentary series for ITV1 takes an up-close and personal look at the oldest scientific zoo in the world - London Zoo. For the first time in a decade, cameras have been given access to all areas of the zoo in Regent's Park and its "country home" at Whipsnade. The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), who invented the word "aquarium", has a collection of over 21,000 wild animals at its two sites. This series reveals what it's like to be part of ZSL's dedicated 800-strong team of staff, including some of the world's best vets.

Nick Mattingly
Nick Mattingly is a British television documentary maker who has made programmes for BBC 1, BBC 2, Channel 4 and ITV։ Nick has filmed in Manchester's Strangeways prison, on board fishing trawlers in the North Sea, on trains in the Himalayan foothills and is currently making a series featuring a lifeboat crew in Northumberland։ He has won several industry honours, including three Royal Television Society awards։
